01
Scope
This policy covers DECAPI’s website and the enquiries made through it. It explains what personal information we collect, the basis on which we hold it, and the choices available to you.
It does not cover third-party websites reached through links from this one. Those sites publish their own policies.
02
What we collect
We keep collection to what an enquiry actually requires. In practice that means:
- Information you submit deliberately: your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, engagement type and the message you write.
- Basic technical information generated by your visit, such as your country, device type, browser family and the pages requested. How we count visits without identifying you is explained below.
- Nothing purchased from data brokers, and no sensitive categories of personal data.
03
Why we hold it
Enquiry details are held to answer you, to scope potential work and to maintain a record of our correspondence. Technical information is held to keep the site secure and to understand which pages are useful.
Where the law requires a lawful basis, ours is legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated, or performance of a contract once an engagement begins.
05
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within twenty-four months. Records connected to an engagement are held for as long as the relationship and applicable record-keeping obligations require.
06
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, or to have it transferred elsewhere.
To exercise any of these, write to admin@decapi.org. We will respond within one month.
07
How we show prices in your currency
Our hosting provider tells us the two-letter country your request came from, worked out from your IP address. We use it once, while the page is being built, to decide which currency to show prices in.
For pricing, it is used once and not kept. If you change the currency yourself, that choice is saved in your own browser and is not sent to us. The same country code is also recorded in our visit statistics, described below.
08
How we count visits
We keep our own simple statistics so we know which pages are useful, how people find us, and whether the site is fast enough. They are ours: no advertising company or analytics provider receives them.
For each page you view we record the page’s address, the website or search engine that sent you (if your browser says), any campaign tag in the link, your country, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and the browser family. We also record how quickly the page loaded for you.
We do not record your IP address or anything that identifies you. To count visitors without a cookie, our server combines your IP address and browser with a secret and the date, and keeps only the scrambled result. It changes every day, cannot be turned back into your IP address, and cannot link your visits from one day to the next.
If you send an enquiry, we note which page you arrived on and how you found us, so we know which parts of the site lead to conversations. Visit statistics are deleted after twenty-five months.
10
Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and held in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
