How it works
Two ways in. One way of working.
Whether you arrive with a question or with a job, it goes the same way: work out what is needed, put it in writing, put the right people on it, finish it.
- First call
- 30 minutes, free
- Before work starts
- Price agreed in writing
- At the end
- Written hand-over

Two ways in
One
Advice
Know what to do next.
We look at what is actually going on in your business, weigh the real options, and tell you which one we would pick and why.
Two
Doing the work
The right person, for as long as you need them.
Tell us what needs doing. We find someone who can do it, agree the terms in writing, and stay responsible until it is finished.
One: advice
When you do not know what to do.
For when the problem is still being argued about, a decision keeps getting pushed back, or nobody can say what finished would look like.
- 01A call
A short first call
Thirty minutes to understand the situation and whether we are the right people for it. Free, and you are not signing up to anything.
Next step: - 02The question
We write down the problem
One page: what the problem is, what we would look at, and what a useful answer would change. You approve it before any paid work starts.
Next step: - 03Digging
We go and find out
We talk to people, look at the numbers and the systems, and read what exists. Enough to tell what is really happening, not what everyone believes.
Next step: - 04Options
We lay out the real options
Each one with its cost, its risk and what it depends on, said plainly. Then we tell you which we would pick and why.
Next step: - 05Hand over
You get a plan with names on it
The decision turns into a list of work with owners and dates. If you have nobody to do it, we can bring people from here.
Two: getting it done
When you know what, but not who.
For when the direction is settled and what is missing is a capable pair of hands, for a day, a quarter or a year.
- 01You ask
You tell us the job
What needs doing, by when, and what finished looks like. If that is still fuzzy, we help you work it out first. No charge for that.
Next step: - 02We write it down
We turn it into a clear brief
Scope, skills, how long it takes and what it costs, all written down. Most jobs go wrong because this step gets skipped.
Next step: - 03We match
We find the right person
We pick against your brief and check they are free and up to it. You get a short list, not a database.
Next step: - 04Work happens
The work gets done
It runs to the agreed plan, with check-ins you can count on. DECAPI stays responsible the whole way.
Next step: - 05Finished
You get the result
Delivered, handed over and written up so it still works later. Carry on, repeat it, or stop. Your call.
Practical questions
What happens on the first call?
About thirty minutes. You describe the situation, we ask what we need to, and we tell you honestly whether we are the right people. No charge and no proposal attached.
Do I have to use both advice and hired help?
No. Plenty of clients use only one. They work well together but neither needs the other.
How do you charge?
Career services have fixed prices you can see on the site. Advice is priced against an agreed scope. Hired help is priced on how long it runs and the skill it needs. All of it is quoted in writing, and none of it moves without your say-so.
How fast can you start?
A first call usually happens within a few days. For hired help, you normally see a short list within a week of agreeing the brief, longer if the skill is rare.
Will you keep our information private?
Yes, under an agreement signed before anything is shared. Anyone we bring in is bound by the same terms as our own team.
Do you only work with businesses nearby?
No. We are based in St. Louis and work with clients anywhere. Most of it happens over video calls, in whatever hours suit you.
Get started
Tell us what you need.
The first conversation is short and free. If we are not the right people, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
